Scottish National Standard Distance Triathlon Championships at Knockburn Loch

The Triathlon Scotland National Standard Distance Championships is set to take place on Sunday, September 6th, 2026 at Knockburn Loch near Banchory. This man-made lake was created as a free-for-all sporting facility by one of the Fleet Feet triathletes and offers an ideal setting for open water swimming.
The race consists of three segments:
- A 1.5km Open Water Swim with two laps, where wetsuits are mandatory.
- A 42km Cycle, featuring three loops on undulating country roads that offer a scenic route through the surrounding countryside.
- A challenging 10km Run, also consisting of two laps over varied terrain including trails and paths.
Registration will open at 8am with a cut-off time for sign-in by 9:15 am. Participants must be Triathlon Scotland Junior 2/B category or older, which means they need to be at least 17 years old as of December 31st, 2026. For those interested in joining the race but lacking a current license, it's possible to obtain one on-site.
