About the Event
Welcome to the 6th edition of Scurry Around Tentsmuir Forest Trail Running Festival, featuring half marathon, 10km, and 5km races along with a fun run for kids. This scenic trail running event is organized by Scurry Events in support of the Tayport Community Trust and Larick Centre. The race takes place on November 1st at the picturesque Tentsmuir Forest near Tayport, offering runners an off-road adventure through mixed terrain including forest tracks, grassy fields, and sandy paths. The half marathon route is a single lap that winds around the forest's diverse landscape, while the 10km and 5km courses offer their own distinct challenges. Participants can look forward to clear signage and marshalling along the way, ensuring an enjoyable experience for runners of all levels. Each finisher will receive a medal as well as a race memento in the form of a stylish head buff with new color options for this year’s event. The fun run is designed specifically for young participants aged 4-12 years old and follows a shorter course through the grassy area near the start line, marked by charming badger signs. All proceeds from the fun run will be donated to the Tayport Community Trust, with volunteers on hand to assist during the event. Registration takes place at Larick Centre in Tayport Shanwell Road between 8:15 am and 9:30 am for all race categories except the family fun run which has a later registration cut-off of 11:15 am. The half marathon begins promptly at 9:30 am, followed by the 10km and 5km races. Race day will also feature refreshments from Active Root, providing runners with ginger sports drinks before and after their runs. Aid stations are strategically placed along the half marathon route to keep participants hydrated throughout the race. This event is not just about running; it’s a celebration of Tentsmuir Forest's natural beauty and community spirit. Runners can expect well-organized support from marshals, clear signage, and a vibrant atmosphere that makes this trail run an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
