The Stuart Duncan Memorial 5k Run is an annual event held in Glenrothes, Scotland, dedicated to supporting local charities through running. Organized under the "Stuart Duncan Forever Running Fund," this year's proceeds will go towards upgrading Rachel House, a Children’s Hospice Across Scotland (CHAS) facility located near Loch Leven. Rachel House offers families with children facing life-shortening conditions a peaceful respite, providing short breaks and day visits in addition to hydrotherapy and bereavement support. The hospice was inaugurated by HRH the Princess Royal in 1996 and has since provided comfort to countless families. Now, after three decades of service, it requires significant upgrades. The race takes place on a flat, traffic-free tarmac path along Boblingen Way, offering runners an out-and-back course that is both scenic and manageable for all levels of fitness. Registration begins at 6:00 pm at The Lomond Centre in Glenrothes, just five minutes from the start line. Participants will find ample parking and toilet facilities available but should note there are no changing rooms on-site. All runners who complete the race receive a commemorative award, while the first male and female finishers each earn a prestigious Stuart Duncan Memorial Trophy to hold for one year. To enter, participants must be eligible under Scottish Athletics League (SAL) rules and physically capable of running 5 kilometers. For those under 18 years old, entries must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian. All runners participate at their own risk; organizers will not be held responsible for any accidents or injuries sustained during the race. Entries are non-transferable and cannot be deferred to future events. No refunds will be issued except in cases of cancellation by the organizing committee (Fife AC). Participants must also adhere to any Covid-19 guidelines that may be in place at the time of the event. Join us for an evening run with a meaningful cause, where every step contributes to making Rachel House’s upgrade possible and supports local families facing challenging times.

About Fife
Learn more about the host city, Fife.
Fife is a county in the north east of Scotland, with a population in 2019 of 371,910. It's a lowland peninsula, with the broad Firth of Forth to the south and the smaller Firth of Tay to the north, and great bridges for its gateways. Its name may derive from the Pictish kingdom of Fib. It's not related to the fife musical instrument, which derives from the German Pfeife, a pipe.
