Swim - Wyresdale Park (08/11)

About the Event

Welcome to Wyresdale Park, where nature and aquatic adventure come together for an unforgettable swim. Nestled along the picturesque lake, this serene setting offers a unique opportunity to explore its tranquil waters.
Upon arrival at the jetty, you’ll be greeted by friendly staff who will provide necessary instructions and safety guidelines. Storage boxes are available if needed during rainy weather. Tow floats can be borrowed here to enhance your swimming experience, while wetsuits are optional but recommended for colder months. Brightly colored hats or bobble hats are suggested for increased visibility.
The lake is divided into four 400-meter circuits, each forming one mile of continuous swim. Blue buoys mark shallow waters near the shore, so it’s best to avoid swimming between them and the shoreline to prevent entanglement in fishing lines. Safety kayakers patrol the area, ready to assist if you encounter any difficulties.
Changing facilities are limited, so please arrive dressed for your swim or change discreetly at your vehicle before entering the water. Parking is available near the Applestore Café, where restrooms can be found both inside and outside. An overflow car park is accessible via a small bridge and woodland footpath leading to the lake.
For those traveling by bus, Stagecoach 40 from Preston Station offers convenient access with a journey time of approximately 45 minutes. Detailed driving directions are also provided for easy navigation.
Join us on November 8, 2026, for an invigorating swim in one of England’s most scenic locations.
