Join us this summer for an unforgettable trail running experience at Cold Norton Trail Events on August 9th, 2026. This scenic charity run supports Farleigh Hospice and offers two routes to choose from: a challenging 13.1-mile half marathon or the more manageable but equally rewarding 10km course. The event takes place in the picturesque countryside around Cold Norton and nearby villages, with runners navigating unmarked paths, grassy trails, and quiet tracks using written instructions provided at registration. A few strategically placed markers will guide you through any tricky sections of the route. Participants can set off anytime between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM on race day, allowing for a leisurely morning start before embarking on your chosen course. Parking is available from 8 AM at Bencott on Newport Avenue in Cold Norton (CM3 6NR), with ample space near the start/finish line. While there are no bag drops, runners will find parking close to both the starting point and finish area, making it easy to store belongings before and after your run. The event organizers encourage participants to get ready by their vehicles and visit the registration desk when they're prepared to begin. Aid stations along the route offer essential hydration but require you to carry your own cup or drink bottle due to a "cupless" policy—no cups will be provided at checkpoints, so ensure you have an alternative on hand. Timing is manual rather than chip-timed for this event, and every effort will be made to provide accurate finish times. The run adheres strictly to the latest COVID-19 guidelines in place as of race day (https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus). Dogs are not permitted at the venue due to safety concerns. Upon crossing the finish line, runners can enjoy a variety of refreshments including hot and cold drinks along with homemade cakes provided by local volunteers. Donations for these treats will go directly towards supporting Farleigh Hospice's vital work. Entry fees cover your participation in either distance: £14 for 10km or £20 for the half marathon, plus an optional finishers medal available at £3.20 (with a booking fee of 50p or 4%, whichever is greater). All proceeds from this event are donated to Farleigh Hospice. Please note that no refunds will be issued if you cannot attend on race day and deferrals are not possible, but your entry fees will still support the hospice's mission.
