About the Event

The Lawford 10k Run, Walk Jog is an inclusive charity event hosted by Manningtree Rotary as part of their Summer Fun Festival at Lawford Playing Field. This family-friendly race welcomes runners, walkers, joggers, and even dogs to participate on a scenic course that winds through picturesque footpaths and short stretches of country lanes. The route consists of two laps around a 5k loop, ensuring participants enjoy the beauty of the surrounding countryside while raising funds for local and international charitable causes.
Participants will be equipped with chip timing technology to track their progress accurately throughout the race. Water stations are strategically placed along the course to keep everyone hydrated during their run or walk. At the finish line, all entrants receive a commemorative medal as recognition of their efforts.
In addition to the main event, there is also a children’s fun run around Lawford Playing Field that adds to the festive atmosphere for younger participants and spectators alike.
Registration opens at 8:30 am with the race starting promptly at 10 am. The day continues well into the evening as various stalls and rides remain open until 6 pm, offering plenty of activities for families to enjoy together throughout the event.
All proceeds from this charity fundraiser go directly towards supporting local charities and international causes that Manningtree Rotary supports year-round under their charitable registration number: 1019980. About Lawford

Lawford is a large village and civil parish in the Tendring district of northeast Essex, England. It is approximately 6 miles (10 km) northeast from the centre of Colchester and west of, and contiguous with, Manningtree. Mistley merges with the east side of Manningtree. Lawford has two junior schools, Lawford Church of England Primary School and Highfields Primary School, situated near Manningtree High School. At the 2021 census the parish had a population of 4,790.
