Join us for Trail & Ale 2026, an exciting run/walk event taking place on Saturday, September 19th, 2026. This year marks our seventh anniversary as we continue to support communities in Haiti and the Dominican Republic through education, health care initiatives, and women's empowerment programs. The race will start at Michigan Avenue near Howard Watson Trail, with participants heading north along this scenic route and dipping into Blackwell Trails for a mix of terrain that includes both paved paths and natural trails. The event offers three distance options: 5K, 10K, and 15K routes designed to cater to all levels of runners and walkers. Registration includes chip timing with an ankle strap and bib provided on the day of the race for live participants. All adult registrants (ages 19+) will receive a complimentary can of local craft beer from Refined Fool brewery after crossing the finish line, while the first 200 early birds also get a custom-designed beer mug as part of their registration package. Children aged 14 and under are welcome to participate in either the 5K walk or run for free when accompanied by an adult. Virtual runners can complete their race anytime between September 1st and September 18th, though they won't receive physical swag like beer cans or mugs due to logistical constraints. The event celebrates its anniversary with a festive after-party at SPORTS located behind the Refined Fool brewery starting at 11:30 AM. Here participants can enjoy delicious food from Burger Rebellion and mingle with fellow runners in a family-friendly environment that offers both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options for all attendees. Race kits and beer pickups are available on Friday, September 18th between 3-7 PM at Refined Fool's location (1326 London Rd., Sarnia). Out-of-town participants can pick up their items early Saturday morning but should arrive 30 minutes before to avoid congestion. Detailed instructions for kit pickup and race day logistics will be emailed out prior to the event, so make sure to check your spam folder. Parking is available at Huron Baptist Church on Michigan Avenue with additional spots near Goodwill stores and other nearby businesses. Please respect these areas by not littering or loitering unnecessarily. Participants are encouraged to raise funds through pledges collected via RaceRoster's fundraising tab or offline methods, which can then be submitted in person during the event. Top fundraisers will receive special recognition alongside those who achieve impressive finish times across various categories including men, women, and kids (runners/walkers). Stay connected with us on Instagram for up-to-date information leading up to Trail & Ale 2026. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to support a great cause while enjoying the beauty of Sarnia's trails and local craft beer culture. Remember, whether you're joining in person or virtually, your participation helps make a difference in communities around the world. See you there!
