WWRF - Braveheart 10km or Wallace Warriors 1 mile Fun Run
About the Event
Braveheart 10km & Wallace Warriors 1 Mile Fun Run Step onto the hallowed grounds of Scotland’s most revered battlefields, where history breathes and legends come alive. The Braveheart 10km offers runners a chance to traverse through some of Scotland's most historic terrain while immersing themselves in its rich past. Starting near the iconic Wallace Monument under the shadowy presence of the Ochil Hills, this fast and flat route follows the River Forth. Runners will cross over Old Stirling Bridge, which has stood as a testament to resilience after being rebuilt multiple times following fierce battles, most notably when Sir William Wallace and Sir Andrew Moray triumphed against Edward I’s forces in 1297 at the Battle of Stirling Bridge. The route is designed for runners who want to experience history firsthand while enjoying an engaging course that highlights both natural beauty and historical significance. Participants will receive a finishers medal, race memento, chip timing, and be treated to lively festival vibes upon crossing the finish line. For those looking to introduce their young ones to running or simply enjoy a family-friendly event, the Wallace Warriors 1 Mile Fun Run is an ideal choice. This traffic-free run allows children of all ages to let loose in a flat course that mirrors parts of the Braveheart route. Participants will receive their own finishers medal and race memento, along with snacks at the finish line. Registration for both events takes place on Saturday, October 10th from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at Stirling Cricket Club in The Peak Stirling. The Braveheart 10km begins promptly at 9:45 am, followed by the Wallace Warriors Fun Run starting at 9:55 am. The entry requirements for the 10k event are a minimum age of 15 years on race day with limited entries available. For the fun run, there are no specific age restrictions—children must be accompanied by adults who do not need to register but should ensure their child’s safety during the event. Older children can lead ahead as long as they have parental approval and meet up at the finish line. The William Wallace Running Festival Team eagerly awaits your participation in this historic celebration, promising an unforgettable experience that blends athleticism with a deep appreciation for Scotland's storied past. Whether you're running to commemorate history or simply enjoy a scenic route rich in culture, come join us on October 10th and create memories of a lifetime.
