On Sunday, March 7th, 2027, runners of all ages and abilities are invited back to Culzean Castle and Country Park for another year of trail runs. Nestled on Scotland's west coast in Ayrshire, the park spans an impressive 642 acres filled with diverse landscapes including gardens, beaches, woodland trails, and a stunning castle. Culzean Castle itself is a masterpiece designed by Robert Adam in the late 18th century, standing majestically atop cliffs overlooking the sea. The estate offers runners breathtaking views of Swan Pond, an ice house, formal gardens, and fruit glasshouses — all set against a backdrop that's both historical and natural. Three trail run options are available: - A scenic 5km route suitable for ages 11 and up. - An invigorating 10km course appropriate for runners aged 15 and over. - The challenging half-marathon, open to participants who are at least 17 years old. Start times vary slightly by distance: - Half-Marathon: 9:45am - 10km & 5km: Both begin promptly at 10:00am Each route winds through the park's captivating terrain and offers unique opportunities to explore hidden corners of this historic estate. Canicross enthusiasts are welcome, with one controlled dog permitted per runner. Timing for all participants will be provided by Timing Up North using live chip-timing technology. Upon crossing the finish line, runners can look forward to receiving an event medal, exclusive Wild Deer merchandise, and refreshments including snacks and drinks. For those interested in commemorating their achievement, a specially designed T-shirt is available at £14 when signing up for any of the events. Parking on site costs £6 per vehicle. Entrants will receive further details about parking arrangements prior to the race day via contact from organizers. A parking pass grants access not only to participants but also to spectators throughout the event, ensuring a full day's enjoyment within this remarkable setting. Join us at Culzean Castle and Country Park for an unforgettable trail running experience that combines history with natural beauty in one of Scotland’s most picturesque locations.
