Here, participants face an open-ended challenge: four checkpoints scattered across the vast and varied landscape must be reached by each team. Unlike traditional swimrun events, EX Safari Race provides teams with their route details 36 hours before the start via a downloadable GPX file to their smartwatches. This innovative approach allows competitors to meticulously plan their journey through this challenging yet breathtaking environment.
During the race, safety boats act as both checkpoints and refueling stations, ensuring that participants can recharge physically and mentally while adhering to the strict checkpoint requirements. The route itself is entirely up to each team’s strategic planning and physical prowess, offering a blend of swimming across crystal-clear waters and running through rugged terrain.
Upon crossing the finish line at Bullerö Island, racers are greeted by a welcoming sauna, light refreshments, and hearty food. This marks the beginning of an evening filled with camaraderie as participants head back to Stavsnäs for an unforgettable swimrun dinner at Kaj & Krog restaurant.
