Eyemouth Twilight 5K & Fun Runs

Nestled along Scotland’s picturesque coastline, Eyemouth plays host to an annual evening tradition: The Eyemouth Twilight 5K and Scott's Mini Fun Runs on August 28th, 2025. Organized by the dedicated Eyemouth Development Trust (SCIO SC045880), this event promises a night of community spirit and fun for runners and spectators alike.
The centerpiece of the evening is the certified 5K run, which has been meticulously designed to cater to all levels of fitness enthusiasts. Certified by Scottish Athletics, the route winds through historic Harbour Road before ascending Victoria Road and looping around the scenic golf course. The well-marked trail ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for every participant, with chip timing provided at no extra cost.
Registration begins promptly at 5 PM outside Giacopazzi's Gelato on Harbour Road, where runners can collect their race numbers and chips. Participants in both the 5K and Scott’s Mini Fun Runs will receive an array of goodies, including a goodie bag filled with treats and a delicious ice cream from Giacopazzi's as a token of appreciation.
The evening kicks off at 6:30 PM with the youngest runners taking part in age-specific mini fun runs. These short races for children aged 1 to 11 years are designed to be light-hearted and enjoyable, focusing on participation rather than competition. Parents can accompany their little ones throughout the event to ensure safety.
As dusk falls over Eyemouth’s charming harbor area, participants will enjoy a vibrant atmosphere with live entertainment and local business collaborations enhancing the overall experience. The main race begins at 8 PM, providing an evening of camaraderie as runners traverse familiar streets under the glow of streetlights.
Post-race festivities include prize giving ceremonies starting from 20:45 pm where all finishers receive medals for their efforts. Race results will be posted on the official Facebook page shortly after completion to ensure everyone can track their performance accurately and celebrate together online.
Safety remains paramount throughout, with marshals stationed at key points along the route and strict rules prohibiting headphone use during the run. Participants are encouraged to follow instructions from event staff and maintain awareness of their surroundings for a secure race environment.
Parking is available near Harbour Road or at designated spots such as Eyemouth Co-op and Leisure Centre car parks. Public toilets can be found in the co-op area, though no changing facilities will be provided on site.
