Lake District Duathlons Returns: March 21, 2027
Experience the unparalleled beauty of Grasmere Village with our Lake District Duathlons on Sunday, March 21st. This iconic race features stunning routes that wind around picturesque Grasmere Lake and venture through scenic countryside.
Event Distances
- Sprint (Short) Duathlon: A challenging yet manageable course featuring a 5km run along the lake paths, followed by a 20km cycle ride towards Elterwater. The event concludes with a 2.5km run back to Grasmere.

- Standard Duathlon: For those seeking an extended adventure, this route offers a more substantial challenge with a 10km initial run around the lake, a grueling 40km bike journey through charming villages like Hawkshead and Coniston, and wraps up with a final 5km run.
Setting & Scenery
Set against the backdrop of Grasmere Lake, this event takes place in one of England's most picturesque landscapes. Surrounded by rolling hills and majestic mountains, you'll find yourself immersed in nature’s beauty as you compete along winding trails and scenic roads.
The transition area is conveniently located at The Showfield on Stock Lane, providing a secure space for athletes to rack their bikes and gear. This serene location offers stunning views of the lake while ensuring everything runs smoothly during race day.

- Sprint Duathlon: 9:15 AM
- Standard Duathlon: 9:00 AM
Participants will be timed using Live Chip Timing by Timing Up North, guaranteeing accurate results. All finishers receive a commemorative event medal and merchandise from Wild Deer, along with refreshments to fuel your post-race celebration.

Parking Information
Limited parking will be provided on-site for a fee of £4. However, additional public parking options are readily accessible nearby to accommodate all participants.
