General Sosabowski Race

Join us on Sunday, 30th August 2026, for an inspiring run along the coastline near Leven, Fife, where General Stanislaw Sosabowski and his troops once trained. This special race commemorates the historical connection between Polish and British forces during World War II.
The event begins at 10:30 AM from the Royal British Legion TA Centre in North Street, Leven (KY8 4LX). The route is a scenic out-and-back course along the firm sand of the beach stretching between Leven and Lundin Links. Participants will experience the beauty of Scotland's coastline while retracing the steps taken by soldiers who trained for critical missions during World War II.
All finishers receive a commemorative medal, celebrating their participation in this unique race that honors General Sosabowski’s legacy. After crossing the finish line, runners can enjoy free soup provided at the end of the 5km run.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female racers in both adult and children's categories (12 years old and over). It is important for all entrants to bring their own hydration as water stations are not available along the route. For safety reasons, participants must use only their assigned bib numbers throughout the event.
Baggage storage will be at your own risk; we recommend keeping personal items in vehicles or near the start/finish area if necessary. Race results and updates will be shared on our Nuts Trail Races Facebook page following the race day.
Entry fees for both adults and children are £5, with no refunds or deferrals offered but number transfers allowed up to 7 days before the event date. By registering, you agree to follow all competition rules set forth by the Association of Running Clubs (ARC).
