Kirkcaldy Parks Running Festival 2026: Half Marathon Date: Sunday, August 30th Gear up and lace up for another year of Fife’s only half marathon! Nestled within the historical town of Kirkcaldy—affectionately known as ‘Lang Toun’ due to its long main street—the event offers a blend of scenic beauty and rich heritage. The race route winds through iconic landmarks like Beveridge Park, Dunnikier Park, Ravenscraig Park, and along the picturesque coastal path with breathtaking sea views. The course also features the newly renovated Waterfront area, complete with a flat measured mile designed for local running clubs and walkers to enjoy. With its mix of free hills, fast flats, and downhills, this half marathon is perfect for runners aiming to chase personal bests or simply explore Kirkcaldy’s diverse landscape. Organized under UK Athletics Rules as a Scottish Athletics permit event, the race welcomes participants aged 17 and older on race day. The event kicks off at Beveridge Park in Kirkcaldy at 10 AM sharp. Given that parking will not be available within the park, plan to arrive early by using nearby car parks or public transportation. While the main focus is on runners, there’s plenty of fun for spectators too! Spend a leisurely afternoon enjoying attractions and food stalls set up in Beveridge Park's Event Village, cheering on participants as they cross the finish line. Don’t miss out on the popular Fun Run either! Entry registration opens at 7 PM on Saturday, January 31st. Transfers of race entries to another person are permitted until the closing date but must be arranged directly between runners due to privacy laws regarding banking information. No refunds or deferrals will be offered. Race numbers and other essential details will be communicated via email updates leading up to the event. Safety is a top priority, with traffic management in place for closed roads along the route. Runners are reminded to follow marshal instructions at all times and adhere to any footpath requirements when necessary. Bone conducting headphones may be used but only as per UKA Rule 240 S5. The race has a strict time limit of three hours (approximately 13 minutes and 45 seconds per mile). Runners expecting to take longer must do so at their own risk, given that road closures will no longer be in effect after this period. As a non-profit organization committed to inclusivity, the Kirkcaldy Parks Running Festival aims to keep entry fees as low as possible thanks to generous sponsorships. This year’s charity partner is Maggie's Fife, celebrating its 20th anniversary of providing vital cancer support services for people with cancer and their loved ones in our community. Join us on August 30th for a day filled with running, celebration, and the chance to contribute positively to an important cause.
