Thirlestane Castle Fundraiser Adult 5k and Kids 2k

On Tuesday, August 25th, runners of all ages are invited to participate in two special events at the picturesque Thirlestane Castle. The evening will kick off with a thrilling U16 2k race starting promptly at 6 PM, followed by an adult-friendly 5k race at 7 PM.
The races begin and end on the castle grounds, offering participants a unique opportunity to run through historic landscapes that are rarely accessible for such events. Registration takes place in the small car park just beyond the Eagle gates; runners will be issued their bib numbers upon arrival. The event is not chip-timed, but medals await all finishers along with refreshing water and homemade traybakes.
The U16 race promises an exciting sprint through a scenic course designed specifically for young athletes, while adults can enjoy a longer journey around the castle's grounds. Trophies will be awarded to the top male and female adult runners as well as the first boy and girl in each age category of the U16 event.
Parking is available outside the main entrance; participants are encouraged to walk into the estate through the gates, ensuring that cars do not enter the restricted areas within castle grounds. Bags can be safely left at the registration desk but must be carried at your own risk.
While the route may not accommodate prams or dogs due to its terrain and narrow paths, it is an ideal setting for those who prefer a leisurely walk over running. Participants are reminded that there will be no refunds available as this event supports Kiaya Hume's dream of securing a football scholarship in America.
